Did you know that one of the many names of Jesus is the Word of God? John 1:1-2 says "In the beginning the Word already existed. He was with God, and he was God," 1 John 1:1 says "The one who existed from the beginning is the one we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is Jesus Christ, the Word of life," and Revelation 19:13 says "... and his title was the Word of God." (NLT) Today's reading assignment is Genesis 1:1 through Genesis 16:16. It is not very long (24 pages in my giant print Bible,) but takes us all the way from Creation to Abram, right before God changed his name to Abraham.
